I'm a chef, nutritionist, herbalist, recipe developer, and food photographer who believes food has the power to bring people together, tell meaningful stories, and help us feel our very best.
Growing up in Northwestern Ontario, I found my happy place in the garden. I loved designing garden beds, growing vegetables, and watching the seasons shape what ended up on our table. Food was never just about eating—it was about gathering with family, celebrating the harvest, and creating memories around meals. Those early experiences sparked a lifelong love of cooking and a deep appreciation for the connection between food, nature, and wellness.
As a competitive athlete growing up, I developed a deep appreciation for discipline, hard work, and caring for my body. At the same time, living with digestive, endocrine and autoimmune challenges sparked a personal interest in health and wellness that continued to grow.
That passion for food led me to culinary school, but I quickly realized something was missing. While the curriculum celebrated classic French cuisine, there was very little conversation about how food could support our health. That realization inspired me to continue my education in nutrition and herbal medicine, combining science with my culinary background to create food that truly nourishes.
Today, Beyond the Bite brings together everything I love—developing recipes for specialized dietary needs, creating beautiful food photography, and helping brands and people tell authentic stories through food. Whether it's a recipe designed to support a health condition or a campaign that inspires people back into the kitchen, my goal is always the same: to create food that nourishes, connects, and leaves a lasting impact.
Today, my journey has come full circle. As a mother entering perimenopause, I'm discovering a new appreciation for how food can support women through every stage of life. Watching my partner navigate pregnancy and postpartum, and now experiencing my own hormonal changes, has inspired the next chapter of my work.
Her Rooted Table is where I'm sharing that journey—exploring hormone health, herbal wellness, nourishing recipes, and practical nutrition to help women feel rooted, supported, and empowered through every season.
